School Safety Improvement Fund

Up to $50,000 per school building will be made available through the School Safety Improvement Fund for schools to implement recommended safety measure capital improvements identified through the vulnerability assessment.

In addition to completing a vulnerability assessment, superintendents and head nonpublic school administrators must also complete the School Safety Improvement Funding Notice of Interest (NOI) Survey to indicate their interest in applying for these funds. The survey is located in the “Other” folder on the main CASA dashboard. Superintendents and head nonpublic school administrators must complete this survey before Sept. 1, 2024, to indicate interest in applying for up to $50,000 per school building in School Safety Improvement Grant funds to implement recommended safety capital improvements identified through the vulnerability assessment. Only one response is needed per district/nonpublic school. Districts and nonpublic schools that indicate interest in applying for these funds will be sent application materials. Additional information concerning this grant funding opportunity can be found within the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and associated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Ohio Attorney General’s FY24 School Safety Grant

This year’s application process will not have a deadline—instead grants will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, making timeliness of applications a key consideration. Ohio schools can now apply for a share of $6.7 million in safety grants that will be awarded for the 2024 academic year, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced today. The funding, approved as part of House Bill 33 by the 135th General Assembly, can be used for safety planning, training and classroom programs for public and private schools, charter schools, educational service centers, STEM schools and schools operated by county boards of developmental disabilities.

Vermont Agency of Education Nicotine and Substance Use Prevention Grant

This grant is made possible by tobacco settlement funding which is provided to the State of Vermont annually. The focus of this grant is to support comprehensive school-based prevention. Although this funding is awarded at the supervisory union/district level, applicants should consider how this funding can complement and work in conjunction with other prevention resources in their local communities. In doing so, overall prevention efforts are strengthened and sustained beyond the end-points of grant cycles.

If awarded, this grant can be used for HallPass by KIDaccount
